When “Anything” Is Losing You
How often have you told a friend, a family member, or a partner, “As long as we’re together, we can get through anything”? But what do you do when the “anything” is losing them?
With Josh, I truly believed we could weather any storm and come out okay. But now, the usual phrases—“everything will work out,” “it’s all for the best,” “move on with your life”—don’t apply to me.


When I hear anything meant to be motivational or grief-healing, there’s always a silent caveat in my heart: I don’t have him. And without him, everything will not be okay in this life.
People often want to wrap heartache in a neat little box, tie it with a bow, and tuck it away in the closet. Maybe I’m different, but mine will never be put away. My grief is not just something I carry—it has become a part of who I am.
